One thing I have learned about caring for those I love, is to teach them to care for themselves.
Running a daycare for 20 years, one of my roles was to guide the children to become independent.
Not giving them that helping hand when they were learning to get their shoes on but letting them work it out.
Ya, it was frustrating.
For them. For me…but when the accomplishment came to pass, OH THE JOY.
Caring for those I love means I need to care for myself.
If I am not in a good place mind, body and spirit, that means those around me will not be either.
I’m in a different season in my life where I have to figure out how to take care of myself all over again.
I’m ok with that.
I’m learning to take care of myself so I can care for those around me with love, respect and honor♥
15-17 Let the peace of Christ keep you in tune with each other, in step with each other. None of this going off and doing your own thing. And cultivate thankfulness. Let the Word of Christ—the Message—have the run of the house. Give it plenty of room in your lives. Instruct and direct one another using good common sense. And sing, sing your hearts out to God! Let every detail in your lives—words, actions, whatever—be done in the name of the Master, Jesus, thanking God the Father every step of the way.
