AN EMOTIONAL EATER

Elimination Diet

This is definitely a process.

Doesn’t happen instantly.

Not for me anyways.

Removing anger, regret, resentment, guilt, blame and worry.

The reason why fasting has helped me in ways that other ‘diets’ couldn’t is because I’m an emotional eater.

That is how I dealt with anger, regret, resentment, guilt, blame and worry.

I would eat.

I love all the science that is involved with fasting and that wonderful ketosis, I love ketosis“deliberately induced ketosis serves as a medical intervention for intractable epilepsy.[6] In glycolysis, higher levels of insulin promote storage of body fat and block release of fat from adipose tissues, while in ketosis, fat reserves are readily released and consumed.[5][7] For this reason, ketosis is sometimes referred to as the body’s “fat burning” mode.[8]” .

I am in fat burning mode when I am fasting.

It helps with letting go of anger, regret, resentment, guilt, blame and worry in a healthier way then emotional eating.

It’s helping me have a rich D.I.E.T.

Did I enrich today?

I’ve gone on three walks today, worked in the garden and yard, did some cleaning in the home and spent time focusing on some goals for my life♥

I’m determined to reach my goals.

I do have more than a weight goal♥

THE BLACK SHEEP OF THE TRIBE

Overcomer

I’ve been a faster since 2008.

Fasting for a certain amount of time and not having any food or caloric drinks.

Well I’ve fasted the food but the caloric drinks, that’s another story…lol♥

Dr. Bert Herring at http://www.bertherring.com/ goes into great detail about what our bodies do when we are in the fasting state and it’s pretty amazing♥ Transforming. The science that goes into it..oh my goodness!~

He has said if not being able to have some kind of cream in your coffee is going to keep you from fasting, then have some but try too cut it out as much as possible.

Today, I say it again…TODAY….

I was able to go ALL day till last break at 2:15 with non caloric drinks.

The caloric drink was a large coffee with some ice and one small cream in it♥

Getting to that time with only having black tea was do able. I was able to keep up with the fast pace at work with quite a bit of energy.

Before last break I was getting tired.

I don’t  think it had to do with fasting but with stressful circumstances.

So after 8 years of fasting my way, this black sheep is changing her colours..lol♥

I want the FULL benefit of fasting.

So I’m going to be  diligent in keeping to having my drinks black♥

WANTING TO BREAK MY FAST

Tomorrow is my future grand baby’s shower.

As I sit and type this out, I look over my lap top screen and see the mounds of wonderful baked goods.

In the kitchen I have 48 eggs that need to be shredded and 24 cans of tuna that need to be opened so I can make 80 sandwiches.

I also will be baking 6 dozen double chocolate chip cookies.

Forgive me to those  of you that this post may trigger you too want to eat. Not my intention here…lol♥

My intention is to share that in every day life, we live where food is always around us.

There is always an occasion to eat.

Society and culture  has made it where if you do not partake in eating at these occasions, you are being rude and offensive towards others.

One thing about Fast-5, we can move our eating window to fit our schedules, the demands and our environment.

Another thing about this way of eating , we no longer go by the dictates of what society and culture concerning food has placed upon us and the belief system that is tied to it. .

More like shackled and chained for me…♥ Just sayin’..lol

I won’t be breaking my fast even though my mind, my emotions and my eyes are saying..’eat, eat, eat’.

When I break my fast, I want to be eating some pretty awesome yummy food. Fill my tummy with goodness!~ And mercy!~♥…..That hasn’t always been the case with me and honestly can still struggle with.

While I am on this journey to get to my destination, I am making sure I D.I.E.T.

TALK ABOUT DISCOURAGEMENT

I took my measurements today and saw that they were exactly the same as 8 months ago.

What the heck!~

I think my exact words were..’sweet Jesus!~ Like what’s going on here?’

We all go through discouragement in our lives.

At some point in life. It happens to all of us.

When it comes to losing weight, EVERYONE can agree it can be extremely discouraging.

One thing about this intermittent fasting for me is that it is a life style not a diet.

I am in the process of losing weight now, NOT maintaining.

I read comments and posts at  https://www.facebook.com/groups/thefast5dietandlifestyle/ , about their struggle to push through because they haven’t gotten enough ‘evidence’ that this is going to be the right fit for them, that they will lose weight and be successful.

Even though I have lost 130 lbs, I have not gotten to my ‘goal weight’.

Taking my measurements and seeing that I have not lost one flippin’ inch on anything was a hard one to take.

I’m actually in awe that I didn’t start saying the f word…LOL..giggling away here.

I wasn’t too happy about it but it didn’t make me want to go back to any other kind of diet to lose weight.

I’m a faster for life♥

Now to lose these last 36 lbs……

MOVING FORWARD

Facing everything and rising.

This weight release journey has had me let go and shake off a lot of stuff other than the physical weight.

Letting go of over 150 collections of stuff.  Yes, you read correctly…..sigh…lol

Letting go of 35 years of smoking cigarettes.

Letting go of dysfunctional behaviors.

A lot of sweat and tears were let go.

Losing the physical weight is also a process of letting go of the negative fatty thought issues.

“She slept without fear…”.

Having that assurance that everything is going to be alright.

It doesn’t matter if we have 30 pounds or 130 pounds to lose, it is NOT just about the physical weight.

As we lose the weight, we also will gain benefits that will far out weigh what we have lost.

I find strength in the fasting state.  My memory is sharpened, not groggy or fuzzy. I’m able to deal with stress in healthier way and with more positive outcome.

I have been up since 5:15 a.m. and been going all day. Broke my fast after 22.5 hours. Eating window was a short one, 1.5 hours before I closed it again.

I am keeping my window of eating small right now because I have been dealing with some really stressful circumstances right now.

As I have shared in the previous post, https://freespirithaven.wordpress.com/2016/04/11/triggers-to-watch-for/  ,stress is a trigger for me to mindlessly eat.

Don’t want that.

I can eat a lot in a short period of time too, so I have to be extremely diligent to stay focused and not mindlessly eat just anything during my window of eating.

Well there is my Study of One for tonight.

TRIGGERS TO WATCH FOR

I’m trigger happy…lol

All joking aside though, do you know what your triggers are?

The triggers that I have become aware of since being on this journey of weight release are numerous.

sigh sigh sigh…I gotta be a diva in everything..lol♥

giggling away here….ok,  back to my triggers…

Being tired.

I have used food to keep me up when a walk outside, or even a few squats, a drink of water or make myself a cup of tea would be healthier than eating to stay awake..♥

Stress, but not in the moment.

After, when everything begins to settle.

I used food to comfort and reward myself for making it through another traumatic episode of whatever I was dealing with.

Laziness.

Laying around and doing nothing but watching tv, or reading, or even sitting at the computer, I can mindlessly eat and not even realize how much was consumed till after the fact.

Depression.

sigh sigh sigh…….I have used food to self medicate.

Boredom.

Sorrow and hurt.

There is probably more but that’s about all I want to share  for right now.

The kettle is boiling for my tea♥

I’m thankful for this tribe of fasters  I have by my side helping me and cheering me on towards success. towards reaching goal!~
